LOUIS CARTIER DIES AT HOSPITAL AT 2 THIS MORNING Succumbs to Paralytic Stroke After Lying Unconscious for Past Week MRS. LOUIS CARTIER passed away at two o'clock this morning at Paulina Stearns hospital where she had lain in an unconscious condition since she was taken there Thursday of last week. The unfortunate woman was never able to speak and tell the story of her sufferings after she was found prostrate upon the kitchen floor of her home Thursday, though at times she seemed to be trying to do so. AUGUSTA MARIA MATILDA FOLSMANN was born near Berlin, Germany, nearly fifty years ago and came to America when but nine years of age. Feb. 11, 1886, she was married to LOUIS CARTIER, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. CARTIER, the marriage taking place at Baldwin. For the last seven or eight years MRS. CARTIER has lived alone in this city as she had no rela- tives near. MRS. A. E. CARTIER, whose kindness of heart never permits her to turn a deaf ear to any plea for sympathy or help, has at all times kept in touch with the decedent and seen to it that if she were ill she had immediate care and atten- tion. When the pitiful plight of the unfortunate woman was discovered MRS. CARTIER was at once notified and lost no time in summoning every aid and insisting upon the tenderest care for the invalid. In these measures she was assisted by her son, W. A., and her daughters-in-law who are within reach. The remains will be taken to MRS. A. E. CARTIER'S home tomorrow, there to lie until Saturday morning when funeral services with high mass will be held at St. Simon's Catholic church. ===========================================================================
