         OLDEST LIGHTHOUSE KEEPER ON
           LAKES IS DEAD AT HURON ISLAND
           
         Calument, Mich., Oct. 4 - DUNCAN CAMERON,
       the oldest lighthouse keeper on Lake Superior
       and the oldest in term of service on the 
       Great Lakes, died today at the Huron Island
       light, midway between here and Marquette, at
       the age of 72 years. CAMERON had charge of
       the Huron Island light the past 41 years.
       
       Transcriber's Note: Duncan Cameron was 
       keeper of the Huron Island light 1881 - 1891.
       Frank White was keeper when Duncan Cameron
       died.
