The house refused to concur in his resolution that the house rules committee be forced to release the measure. Representative Holland claimed the committee has refused to report the resolution or grant him a hearing. He asserted he has many letters from relatives of the men who lost their lives, urging him to try and compel the company to reclaim the bodies. Rep. Charles W. Richardson of Marquette opposed bringing the resolution to the floor. The mine is in his district and he stated the work of recovering bodies would be attended with grave danger of the loss of additional lives. ===========================================================================
