Capt. SIMON KINSMAN Killed at the Champion Mine. CAPT. SIMON KINSMAN, of the Champion mine, at Champion, one of the best known mining captains in the Lake Superior district, was instantly killed Wednesday. He and SUPT. WALTER FITCH were coming out of the mine in a skip, when the latter struck a piece of pipe and over- turned. FITCH held on to the skip and escaped, but KINSMAN fell to the bottom, a distance of 1,000 feet. ==========================================================================
