McDonald's Opera House Block is Damaged About $10,000 Negaunee, Mich., Feb. 18. - Fire left in the stove on the stage of McDonald's Opera house by the Workers' club, which held an entertainment in the place, is supposed to have started a fire that caused about $10,000 damage to the brick-veneered building and contents. Nine-tenths of the damage was covered by insurance. The second floor of the building, McDonald's hall, was occupied by the Workmen's club of Negaunee, and in it most of the damage was done. This damage alone is estimated at about $5,000. The Workmen's club equipment, valued at$1,000, none of which was insured, was destroyed. JULIUS BRAASTED, manager of F. BRAASTED & Co's store, estimated that the firm's loss by smoke and water would be about $2,000. This loss is covered by insurance. ==========================================================================
