         Died of his wounds - On the 10th day of February,
       A.D. 1874, EDWIN W. SECOR, aged 44 years.
       
         MR. SECOR was one of the first settlers of Manistee
       county having immigrated to this place in 1850 when
       the place where the city now stands was an unbroken
       wilderness.
       
         He learned the hardships of pioneer life, and by
       honest industry has accumulated a handsome fortune.
       In him Manistee has not only lost one of the earliest
       of its pioneer settlers, but one of the very best of
       its citizens. He was a brother to CHAS. SECOR, Esq.,
       of the City Bank. The father of these two brothers
       died suddenly about sixty days since as was noticed
       in this paper.
       
         The deceased leaves a loving wife and several
       children, who have the heart-felt sympathy of a large
       circle of relatives and friends.
