         Special Dispatch to The Detroit Free Press
         
         Manistee, Nov. 26. - Telegraphic intellegence received
       here this afternoon that PERRY RUSSELL, of this city,
       while examining improvements made on the head waters of
       the Manistee River, was drowned Monday evening by the
       capsizing of a canoe, and that search would be made in
       the morning for the body. MR. RUSSELL was a member of
       the firm of RUSSELL Bros., prominent lumbermen and mer-
       chants of this place. He was very much respected by the
       entire community, and leaves a wife and four small
       children.
