He had been choping upon a tree until it began to fall, when he ran, but mistaking the direction which it was falling he ran under it, and it killed him almost in- stantly. The accident took place on the farm of C. P. HOOKER, Esq., about a quarter of a mile from Hatey- way's steam mill. - Romeo Argus. [Transcriber's Note: According to the 1860 Census Mortality Schedule for Macomb Co., MI., the accident occurred on August 31, 1859. This is one of the very few times that the census enumerator wrote the date of death rather than just the month.] ===========================================================================
