On the evening of the 7th of November, at about 6 o'clock, DAVID THOMAS, of Cambridge, Lenawee county, met with his death in the following melan- choly manner: On his return home from Adrian on the above named evening, - whither he had gone to dispose of a load of hides and pelts (a business in which he was engaged), he was thrown from his wagon near Dr. Combs', in Rome, while driving at a rapid rate, and broke his collar bone, and so injured his spine as to cause his death in about fourteen hours. During the most of the time he lived he was perfectly rational, and gave some directions in regard to his immediate business, with the hope of soon being better. He was kindly and constantly attended by Dr. Combs, of Rome, until he died. His decease occurred about an hour before any one of his family reached the scene of the sad event. By his request, his wife was not sent for. MR. THOMAS was 40 years of age, and has long been an active and energetic business man in his town, and as such he is by many missed. He was a kind husban, and a father beloved by his children, who are indeed clothed in sorrow at an event so unlooked for and unusual. His funeral took place from the Episcopal Church Nov. 8th, where a very large assemblage of his friends and neighbors testified to the general gloom which this sad casualty occasioned in their midst. ===========================================================================
