         Frozen to Death - On Wednesday morning of last week,
       we were exceedingly pained to hear of the death of
       SAMUEL ALVORD, an old printer, who has resided in La-
       peer for some years. It appears that he was down in
       Lapeer the day preceeding his death, for the purpose
       of disposing of some farm products, and left the vil-
       lage for home in the afternoon, since which time no-
       thing was heard of him until he was found frozen to
       death by the roadside.
