Page & Co., Chicago, 1884 Page 43 JOSEPH SIMON, SR., of the firm of J. Simon & Son, was born in Pennsylvania, April 28, 1826. He there learned the trade of carriage manufacturing. In 1848 he went to New Jersey, and engaged in the carriage business. Came to Almont in 1855 and engaged in the same business. In 1878 his son became associated with him, and since then they have, under the above firm name, made a specialty of building and re- pairing carriages, giving some attention also to wagon work. Their skillful and faithful work has secured for them a large patronage and successful business. ===========================================================================
