Was bred a farmer, and has always followed that employment He came to this country in 1850, reaching Almont July 20th, and bought the farm on which he now resides. He was married in 1838 to MARGARET MIKELL, of Ayrshire, Scotland. Has one child, the wife of JAMES RATTRAY, of Almont. Mrs. REID died April 9, 1881. Mr. REID'S farm is the east half of east half of south- east quarter of section 24.
