A. DELANO, agent of the Phoenix and St. Clair Mines, was born in Fair Haven, Mass., October 30, 1848; came to Lake Superior in 1868, and engaged with the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company as clerk. In 1872, he left the Calumet & Hecla, to accept the po- sition of clerk at the Phoenix Mine, and in 1874 was appointed agent.
