   OTIS B. BRYANT, chief clerk of the Phoenix and St. Clair
 Mines, was born at Hingham, Mass., June 4, 1860; was educated
 at Fair Haven, and came to Lake Superior in the spring of 1880, to
 accept his present position at the Phoenix Mine.  He entered upon
 the discharge of his duties April 14 of that year.
