He was engaged as a sawyer in the mill of MR. MATEVY; and while in the act of rolling a log on the carriage, in consequence of the slipping of his lever, or log hook, he full upon the circular saw, and his body was instantaneously and com- pletely severed, just below his breast. His fellow work- men did not observe the movement, until a slight change in the sound of the saw caused them to look around, and with horror, to see his quivering form roll upon the floor, in two parts, one upon each side of the log! ===============================================================================
