The patrolman on duty at that point was seized with an ambition to capture the bird. He didn't care to use his revolver for he might hit more than one object with it, and so gathered up a big stone to try how expert he was in boyish tricks. He threw it, the owl didn't even blink, and he went the next day and paid for a glass in a store front across the way, which he smashed. ==========================================================================
