He and another young man named RICKEY were returning with teams from Battle Creek, and when a little over half a mile from Climax Corners WRIGHT, who was behind, turned out and attempted to pass RICKEY. The night was extremely dark, and a collision and runaway were the consequence. RICKEY arrived at the Corners considerably the worse for liquor, and reported that WRIGHT had tried to pass him and had run into him, and he hoped he had killed him. Search was made for WRIGHT, and he was found at quite a dis- tance from the place where the collision took place. He lived but a few minutes after he was found. There were no marks of injury about his person. ===============================================================================
