THE GAGE MINE is located one and one-half miles east of the Jackson city limits. It employs sixteen men; is ventilated by the exhaust from the steam pumps in the mine, which keeps a fair circulation of air all over the mine. Mine manager, Edward Mallet. THE BLACK DIAMOND MINE has only been in operation about half the time in the past year. It is operated on the co-operative plan. Em- ploys 6 men, has two openings. Ventilation is natural.
