         Ionia County
         
         The Portland Advertiser says that JOHN FROST, living
       three miles east of the village, while loading straw on
       a sleigh on Saturday, was impaled upon one of the stakes
       by the sudden starting of the cattle. In attempting to
       extricate himself, the stake broke off, lacerating and
       tearing his body in a fearful manner.
       
       Transcriber's Note: JOHN FROST died from his injury
       and is found on the 1870 Census Mortality Schedule
       of Ionia county, MI.
