Chapman Brothers, Chicago, 1884 [409] JACOB MILLER, farmer section 11, Bingham Township, was born Dec. 28, 1850, in Waterloo Co., Ont. He is the son of NICOLAS and MARGARET (HABNER) MILLER, and his parents were among the earliest settlers in the township, having made a transfer of their family and interests to the county in 1856. He was a member of his father's household until his settlement in life as the head of a family. He was married June 20, 1881, in Paris Township, to CATHERINE KELLEY. She was born Oct. 18, 1855, in Strathroy, Ont., and is the daughter of DANIEL and MARGARET (BRENNEN) KELLEY. Her parents are now residents on a farm in Bingham Township. In August, 1878, MR. MILLER purchased 80 acres of wild land, and when he was married he fixed his residence therein. There are now 60 acres of finely improved land with farm buildings of excellent character. MR. MILLER is a Democrat in political principle, and is the present Township Treasurer.
