Chapman Brothers, Chicago, 1884 [205] JAMES HALEY, farmer, section 28, Colfax Township, has been a resident of Huron County since December, 1865. Two years afterward he became owner of 160 acres of land in the township where he has since resided and expended the best energies of his life in the improvement of his property. His real estate now includes 120 acres, with 65 acres under cultivation. In political sentiment he is a Republican, and he has been active and efficient in the local government of his township. He has served four years as Constable, one year as Treasurer, and four years as Supervisor. MR. HALEY was born in 1846, in Ireland, and is the son of OLIVER and MARY (CULBERT) HALEY. The parents are natives of Ireland and emigrated to Canada in 1853, coming thence in 1865 to Huron County, where they now reside. Seven of their eight children are living. MR. HALEY is the fifth child of his parents and the second son. He was married May 8, 1873, to ANGELINE SHERMAN. She was born Aug. 27, 1853, in Illinois. The children of Mr. and Mrs. HALEY were born as follows; MARY E., ROSCOE, MARGARET, BURT, MABLE M. and MARTHA J.
