Chapman Brothers, Chicago, 1884 [236] JOSEPH FARR, farmer, section 28, Meade Township, was born in York County, Ont., Nov. 17, 1832. He is of English descent, his parents, THOMAS and ELIZABETH (DAWSON) FARR, having been born in England, and emigrated thence to Canada, where they passed the re- mainder of their lives. After he had passed the period of early youth, MR. FARR became a carpenter, and continued the pursuit of that as a calling for 15 years. In the spring of 1876 he came to Huron County and bought 120 acres of land in Meade Township. To this he added 40 acres by later purchase, and now has about 75 acres which are cleared and cultivated. MR. FARR adopts the principles of the Republican party, and has been Township Clerk three years. His marriage to MARY CONET occurred in Canada, Feb. 3, 1857.
