GEO. FULLER It is with regret that we record the death of DR. GEORGE FULLER, of Houghton, Mich., which took place on the 31st December. The deceased was well known to most of our citizens - and indeed throughout the Western Reserve, having been born and brought up in their midst. He was the second son of the late JUDGE SIMEON FULLER, and born September 26, 1822. At an early day, as we are informed, he commenced the study of medicine in the Willoughby Medical College, where he graduated three years afterward. In 1846 he was married to MISS ELIZA B., daughter of the late HEZEKIAH FERGUSON, and commenced the practice of medicine at Gates' Mills. He afterwards removed to Kirtland, and from thence to Albion, Mich. He also spent a season at Otta- wa, in this State, and finally removed to Hough- ton. DR. FULLER had been out of health for more than a year, and was at times a great sufferer. In May last he made a visit to his friends here, and seemed to recuperate and gain strength, re- turning home much encouraged. But it appears he gained no permanent benefit. It is worthy of note that only four weeks ago we recorded the death of the elder brother, MR. RUSSEL FULLER - both of whom have been called away in the space of a month. DR. FULLER was considered an able and skillful physician, a man of generous im- pulses, an affectionate, indulgent husband and father, a loving brother, a faithful friend, and highly esteemed for his many genial quali- ties - entertaining his friends with lavish hospitality. Of the family of JUDGE FULLER, MRS. DAVID LAW is the only remaining member. We copy from the Mining Gazette, published at Houghton, on the 1st instant, the following. Death has removed another old resident of Portage Lake in the person of DR. GEO. FULLER, who died Wednesday morning last, at the At- lantic mine, where he had been the medical adviser for years. The late DR. FULLER had resided in this section for nearly a quarter of a century, during which time he was in ac- tive practice as a physician. The deceased, who was about 56 years old was born in Ohio. During his residence in the district he has been in the employ of the Quincy, Franklin, Pewabic, Shelden-Columbian, Isle Royale, Huron, Atlantic and other smaller industries. He also enjoyed a large practice in this place. DR. FULLER was a man of strong intellec- tual parts, and as a medical adviser he ranked with the best physicians on the lake. Among his intimate friends he was highly esteemed for his many genial qualities. For over a year DR. FULLER had been more or less of an invalid, his ailment being a complicated form of liver complaint, which finally resulted in his death. He leaves a wife and five children. He will be buried on Friday (to-morrow) from his late residence in this place. ===============================================================================
