The women, who were particularly active, spat in the faces of the deputies. The soldiers rescued an Allouez mine fireman who was attacked by strikers while on his way to work. The strikers took him from a street car and were beating him when the militia arrived. Strikers and women sympathizers at the Champion mine resumed their attacks on non-union men today, striking them with brooms dipped in filth and throwing missiles. One man was badly beaten and three women were arrested.
