XXI Wynkoop Ballenbeck Crawford Co., State Printers 1912-1913 [page 123] DR. DANIEL BEEBE died at his home in Hillsdale, January 22, 1892, aged eighty-two years. DR. BEEBE was born in Madison county, N.Y., October 9, 1809, and came to Hillsdale in the spring of 1848, living here ever since. He was well known by old and young and had been identified with many societies and associations in the city and county. He always took great interest in public and political matters; was an able writer, a good talker and a profound thinker. He was elected a trustee of Hillsdale college in 1855, when that institution was founded and held his position on the board until 1878. He was treasurer of the county agricultural society for three years and was the first president of the Farmers' Insurance Co., of Hillsdale county and the possessor of the first policy issued. He leaves a wife and two sons, WILLIAM BEEBE, of Hillsdale, and THURLOW BEEBE, of Dakota. ===============================================================================
