Daniel L. Pratt. It is a frame building, on a pleasant farm of 200 acres, near the village of Hillsdale. Opposite to the main building there is a small frame house, in a miserable condition, occupied by the male paupers. The character of this building was such that it could not well be kept in a decent condition. Aside from this, the premises were clean, neat, and orderly. There were several insane persons in the house, some of whom are violently so, and are required to be kept constantly confined. =========================================================================== Page 138 Biennial Report of the State Board of Corrections and Charities 1907 HILLSDALE Infirmary three miles from Hillsdale. The house was completed three or four years ago and was erected after approved plans; is well heated and ventilated; is provided with bath tubs, lavatories and water closets; is well planned for separation of sexes; is a model house and well kept. =========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access more of our growing collection of FREE online information by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ ===========================================================================
