Friday, 3 July 1885

         JAMES WOOD, an old pioneer of this section, departed
       this life on Wednesday, the 25th inst. The deceased had
       been in ill-health for some time past, but just previous
       to his death he had so improved as to be able to be
       around the premises. The funeral services were held
       Friday foremoon last, and were conducted by Rev. Mr.
       King. The deceased was 68 years and 11 months of age
       and was well known and respected in this vicinity.
