He was taken up in an unconcious state, and although surgi- cal aid was immediately procured, he survived but about three hours. (further down same column) The St. Louis Gazette of the 2d says: A gentleman of Elm Hall informs us that on Saturday last, a man by the name of GEORGE SHERWOOD, of the Township of Seville, was thrown from a sleigh and killed. It seems that SHERWOOD, in com- pany with a man by the name of WELCH, were going after a load of hay. SHERWOOD stood up in the sleigh, hanging hold of a stake, when it broke, letting him fall to the ground, striking his head against a log, and causing his death. ===============================================================================
