He was a passenger on the City of Traverse from Chicago, and the evidence on the inquest as given in the Tribune showed that McHARRY remained in CAPT. BALDWIN'S room the greater portion of the time. About six o'clock in the morning he signified his intention of going below, where- upon CAPT. BALDWIN called to his mate to watch McHARRY lest he fall over-board. MR. TOM BALDWIN, the mate, at once started toward McHARRY, who was descending, but before he could reach him McHARRY turned around and jumped into the water. CAPT. BALDWIN immediately threw a plank overboard and stopped the boat; a yawl was lowered and the body was soon found, floating on the surface face downward. The distance from where he jumped to the water was about 30 feet, and as he struck face downward the shock probably killed him instantly. He did not move after striking the water. No cause is assigned except that for some he has given evidence of partial insanity. His age was about 75 years. ===============================================================================
