He went to work as usual in the morn- ing, but was taken sick and got on the skip to ride to the surface, but in some unknown manner fell out of the skip when it had ascended about three hundred feet, going to the bottom level and being instantly killed. Deceased was about forty-five years of age, had lived in this city for a number of years, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.
