Oct 14, 1886 - Under tow of the tug CRUSADER when they were caught in a raging gale on Lake Erie. The tug dropped the towline and ran for shelter. RED, WHITE & BLUE was beaten up badly but survived the storm and was towed into Buffalo Harbor by the revenue cutter COMMODORE PERRY on the 17th. Capt. Shaw. Oct 10, 1895 - Bound Toledo to Green Bay in tow of steamer OTEGO when when both went ashore on Whaleback reef.
