August, 1874 - Struck a rock and sunk in Welland Canal while enroute from Chicago to Oswego with 19,025 bushels of corn. October, 1874 - Ashore on North Manitou Island, Lake Michigan, and declared a total wreck. April, 1882 - Collided with the schooner CLAYTON BELLE about ten miles north of Port Huron. Loss of 4 lives from the CLAYTON BELLE which was declared a total loss. July, 1887 - Bound for Cleveland with ore, and in tow of the steamer NASHUA, when she sprung a serious leak and was run ashore at Beaver Island to prevent sinking. September 28, 1891 - Laden with coal and, along with the NEWSBOY and WM. YOUNG, was in tow of the steamer NASHUA enroute to Racine, WI., when the PARSONS foundered off Fairport, OH.
