November 27, 1872 the SARAH ANN MARSH stranded at Weller's Bay during a gale and was expected to be a total loss. It seems that she was eventually released and towed to Owen Sound where she spent a few years lying at the dock. In 1877 a party of speculators and attempted to repair her. The attempt was futile as in July, 1880 someone set fire to the "wreck" of the S.A. MARSH and she burned to the water's edge. She remained on the vessel lists for a few more years afterward. ======================================================================== Sources: Canadian Lake Underwriters Vessel Register, 1873 Buffalo Daily Republic, 12 December 1853 Great Lakes Vessel Database, Library of Michigan Owen Sound Advertiser, 29 July 1880
