CASUALTIES: 8 SURVIVORS: 5 Exploded her boilers while lying at the Port Huron and Lake Michigan R.R. dock at Port Huron. A short distance away was the schooner ALDEBARAN and the scow PREBLE which were waiting to be taken in tow. A piece of the boiler landed in the stern of the ALDEBARAN. The boiler had been put in a year before and was inspected on April 20th. Victims: Andrew Rathburn, mate, of Algonac Thomas Blanchard, first engineer, Detroit Patrick McGuire, wheelsman Melbert Preston, Detroit Charles Miller, fireman ?
