Dell Minney TONNAGE: 75 gt DIMENSIONS: 80 x 17 x 9.3 CASUALTIES: 1 of 3 During a heavy gale of wind the JOHN GREGORY waited inside the Cleveland breakwater for an opportunity to tow a mud scow outside to the usual dumping grounds. Her mooring lines were parted by the tremendous seas that crashed over the breakwater. After unsuccessful efforts to make fast to a barge the GREGORY headed for the river but suddenly capsized and sank when turning to enter the stream. Two of the crew were rescued by the Cleveland lifesavers.
