TONNAGE: 84 gt, 80 nt DIMENSIONS: 95 x 21.16 x 6.16 CASUALTIES: None of 4 On 23 July, 1907, while at Sheboygan, WI., 250 gallons of of gasoline on the JOSEPHINE DRESDEN exploded killing Arabel Olson, the engineer, and badly injuring G. M. Hanson, a member of the crew. On 11 September, 1907, she sprang a heavy leak and came into Ludington harbor waterlogged with her crew exhausted from pumping. finally.... 27 November 1907 - Anchored near the beach on the W. side of N. Manitou Island with an offshore SE wind for the purpose of discharging cargo. Wind suddenly shifted to NW and she stranded when the gasoline engines failed to work promptly. Life savers from both stations, with the aid of tugs, attempted to work her up onto the beach for days following.
