DIMENSIONS: 83 x 20 x 8 CASUALTIES: None mentioned Bound for Detroit from Buffalo with coal when she sprung a leak in heavy weather and went down. Her crew was rescued by the schooner CITIZEN after working the pumps for several hours. The Acorn was built by T. H. Cobb at Black River, OH., in 1842. She was first sunk on 29 August, 1842, on Lake Erie by collision with the schooner EMILY.
