The Pentwater ferry is in better shape this season than ever before. Mr. Perkins is doing all in his power to accommodate the public. The LAKE BREEZE landed at Underhill Gray & Co's dock, last Sunday morning delivering her freight and passengers, on her way north. We understand that Capt. Corcoran who is now in command of the BREEZE, will assume duty on his old boat, the MESSENGER. We learn that important changes in the running of the steamboat lines of the Goodrich Transportation Company during the coming season are contemplated, which may re- sult in reopening the transit line between Sheboygan and Pentwater. We certainly hope it may be so. -- Sheboygan Times. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Pentwater News Friday, March 13, 1874 [extracts of marine news] The LAKE BREEZE came in on Wednesday. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Pentwater News Friday, March 20, 1874 [extracts of marine news] Although the propeller LAKE BREEZE, of the Englemann Line, and the little steamer MAGNET, running between Pentwater and Ludington, have made their trips during the entire winter, yet navigation could not properly be said to be open until March 15, when the schooners WINNIE WING and SKIDMORE and the propeller MESSENGER put in an appearance, and begun their season's work. The LAKE BREEZE and CITY OF TOLEDO will not be out until April 1, but are now being thoroughly refitted and repaired. It is rumored that the Goodrich Transportation Company will also run along this shore this summer, but we have not received any official intelligent as yet in this regard. NAVIGATION OPEN!
