FRIDAY, JANUARY 27, 1871 VOLUME I, NUMBER 2. (extracts of maritime news) VESSEL SALE - Robert Miller has sold a half interest in the MINNIE DOAK to W. H. Ewing, for a nominal sum, and her owners will endeavor to look her up in the Spring. It will be remembered that this ill-fated schooner is said to have sunk in the ice between Black Lake & Muskegon, - about one mile north of Black Lake and three miles south of Muskegon, - and she has not since been seen. We hope the vessel may be found in the spring not seriously damaged, for Robert has long been an industrious and prudent fellow, and we should be sorry, now that he is just starting in life, to have him meet with any losses. ===========================================================================
