         Two Men, Trapped by Blast
          In Car, Die from Burns
          
         Gladwin, Dec. 13 (AP) -
         Trapped in their automobile when it collided with
       another car and the gas tank exploded, two men re-
       ceived such severe burns that they died in hospitals
       and a third occupant is in a hospital in a critical
       condition. Five other persons of the six in the other
       car were injured, one critically.  The collision oc-
       curred at midnight Saturday near Winegars, Gladwin
       county. Frosted windshields were blamed.
         The dead are ERNEST PECK, who died in a Clare 
       hospital, and HENRY RUMINGER, who died Sunday morn-
       ing in Mercy hospital, Bay City.
         The injured are: GEORGE PECK, brother of ERNEST, 
       who is in Mercy hospital, Bay City, in critical con-
       dition from burns; EDWARD YANKE, in Mercy hospital,
       Bay City, extent of injuries undetermined; THELMA
       and ALTA HARGER, cuts and bruises; ELDA BARTON,
       cuts and bruises.
         Following the crash the gas tank of the car con-
       taining the PECK brothers and RUMINGER exploded.
       The engine was driven back pinning the men in the
       car. Their clothes were burned entirely off of them
       and their bodies badly seared.
         The men all live on farms near Gladwin. The three
       girls are employed in hotels in Gladwin. One other
       occupant of the KLEISS car, OTTO KLEISS, escaped
       uninjured.
