                               DELTA

        Infirmary four miles from Escanaba.  A fine new brick building has
     been erected since the last report and the old building remains, thus
     furnishing ample accommodation for the county poor.  The new building
     is well equipped with heating plant and has good water supply but
     drainage at time of visit was defective; the old building is reserved
     for more difficult cases and by its proximity to the new building is
     something of a menace in case of fire.  Fire escapes should be pro-
     vided.
