JOSEPH TABOR, of Elsie, committed suicide on Monday morning, the 12th inst., by hanging. It is believed that she was insane. (Transcriber's Note: The 1870 Census Mortality Schedule gives her first name as TRIPHENA) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Jackson Citizen Monday, September 20 1869 The Ovid Register says: MRS. JOSEPH TABOR committed suicide on Sunday morning last, between the hours of eight and 9 o'clock a.m., by hanging herself with a rope to the beam of an old log house that stood in the rear of their dwelling house. The cause of such an act cannot be attributed to anything short of men- tal alienation. Mr. and Mrs. TABOR have lived together for a number of years in a quiet and friendly manner. The cause given by her physicians for insanity, was disease causing a mental and nervous prostration, which could not be cured. ===============================================================================
