Marie, Mich., June 1 - The report that a lad at Bay Mills, twelve miles from this city, on the D., S. & L. rail- way, had been murdered by an Indian proved erroneous. With two companions, GEORGE WASCOMB, aged 12, had been firing with a rifle at a target, and were lying on the ground when one of them took hold of the gun by the barrel. The hammer caught and the gun was discharged. Young WASCOMB received the bullet in the jugu- lar vein and death resulted. ===========================================================================
