It contains 324 square miles. It is traversed by Sheboygan (sic) and Black rivers, which expand and form several lakes in the county, viz., Mullett, Burt, Sheboygan, and Jenk's lake. These streams flow in a northerly direction, and empty into Mackinac straits opposite Bois Blanc Island. There are several salt springs 15 miles from the mouth of the Sheboygan river. There are vast quantities of timber and lumber manufactured and shipped here for ports on the St. Lawrence and ports westward. The county has been organized since 1850. ==========================================================================
