B. BISSELL DEAD An Old Newspaper Man Gone BENJAMIN B. BISSELL, a former resident of Marshall, who a few weeks ago went to the Soldiers' Home at Grand Rapids from Albion, where he has resided for several years, died at that institution Thursday morning of cancer. He was 71 years of age. His re- mains were taken to Marshall for burial on the 3:12 Michigan Central train yesterday afternoon, accomp- anied by his brother, PHILIP BISSELL, and his brother- in-law, OSCAR WILMARTH. The burial occurred at Oak- ridge at 5 o'clock. MR. BISSELL at one time was pub- lisher of the Statesman, being associated with F. H. BURGESS. He also published the Albion Recorder and Albion Republican for several years, and was one of the oldest newspaper men in the state. When the free delivery mail service was instituted at Albion, he was appointed letter carrier, which position he held for about eight years until he was obliged to resign on account of his age.
