He went out in company with two others, and he started in a little skiff to scare up ducks while the two stationed themselves in pro- per places to shoot them as they passed. He passed with his skiff out of their sight. Hearing nothing from him for some time they began to look for him and discovered the skiff in the lake some 40 rods from shore, empty. They endeavored to construct a raft, but night coming on, they abandoned it and returned to this city. A large number turned out the next day in search of him. On proceeding to the skiff the grass being very thick, they were able to trace MR. T's course through it towards the shore, he having taken to swimming. - His body was found about 20 rods from shore, and brought to the house of his brother-in-law, of this city, Mr. EDWARD K.
