C. P. PHELPS, died at her home on the Lake Shore, on Sunday, after an illness of some weeks, aged nearly 50 years. A husband and two sons, DAVID R. and ARTHUR, survive her. MRS. PHELPS was born in Connecticut in September, 1838, thence removed with her family to New York State, where, in 1857, she was married to MR. PHELPS. She was the daughter of D. N. BROWN, who with his family and MR. and MRS. PHELPS came to St. Joseph in 1860 and pur- chased lands and built a home in Lincoln township, where the latter has since resided. Her funeral services were held Tuesday from her late home, Rev. J. V.
