Yesterday morning this same pile of concrete was the framework of an eight-story hotel. Starting the night before and continuing all day yesterday the seven stories just melted away. Early this morning the last section tumbled, completing the wreck. Workmen today began attacking the mountain of debris, preparatory to rebuilding. Collapse of the big structure is likely to re- main a mystery. The contractors point to other concrete structures over the country which have fallen in a similar fashion, and say that the causes of their collapse were difficult to deter- mine.
