E. SNYDER, had a very close call from a horrible death, Monday forenoon. She was on her way to Chicago on the City of Milwaukee, with her parents, when, about 10:30, she accidently fell from the hurrican deck through the walking-beam hole down into the engine room, lodging onto a part of the hot machinery, where she was fortunately quickly rescued by one of the men. Two physicians who happened to be on the boat attended the child whose leg was broken at the hip and she was otherwise considerably hurt. Mr. and Mrs. SNYDER re- turned on next boat and on their arrival here Dr.s H. V. TUTTON and JOHN BEIL took the little one in charge and she is generally having the best of care at the E. L. KINGSLAND home. ===============================================================================
