              Marshal LaPLAHN arrested a young man, Tuesday evening,
            who was charged with making some slight disturbance
            in connection with the first of May obervance, and
            placed in the cooler. The father of the boy demanded
            his release before the Council, offering proper bail.
            For some unknown reason the Marshal refused to accede
            to the demand, whereupon the Council settled the mat-
            ter by electing a new Marshal, and the boy was released.
